Cairo Santos is a placekicker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on November 5, 1991, in São Paulo, Brazil, and grew up in Florida after moving there at the age of seven.
Santos played college football at Tulane University, where he set several school records for field goals made and kicking percentage. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent.
During his time with the Chiefs, Santos established himself as one of the most accurate kickers in the league, making over 86% of his field goal attempts in four seasons with the team. However, he missed part of the 2017 season due to injury and was eventually released by the Chiefs.
After brief stints with the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears, Santos re-signed with the Bears in 2019 and has been their starting kicker ever since.
