Ifeatu Melifonwu is a football cornerback who currently plays for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Lions in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 72nd overall pick.
Melifonwu played college football at Syracuse University where he started all 33 games he appeared in over his four-year career. During his time there, he recorded 98 total tackles, six interceptions, and one sack. His impressive play on the field earned him All-ACC honors as a senior in 2020.
