Description
Javon Hargrave is a defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). He wears the number 98 and plays an important role on the 49ers defense.
Hargrave was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons with the Steelers before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent prior to the 2020 season. After one year with the Eagles, he joined the 49ers via another free agency deal in March 2023.
Throughout his career, Hargrave has established himself as a formidable interior presence on defense. Known for his strength and quickness off the line, he excels at disrupting opposing teams’ running games and collapsing pockets around quarterbacks. In 2021, playing for the Eagles, Hargrave recorded a career-high 7.5 sacks and earned his first Pro Bowl selection.
