Montez Sweat is an American football player who currently plays as a defensive end for the Washington Commanders (formerly known as the Redskins) in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the team in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 26th overall pick.
Sweat played college football at Mississippi State University, where he quickly established himself as one of the top pass rushers in the country. Over his final two seasons with the Bulldogs, he recorded 30 tackles for loss and 20 sacks. His impressive play on the field earned him numerous accolades, including being named First-Team All-SEC twice and a consensus First-Team All-American in 2018.
