Here’s a preview of the Buffalo Bills’ new cornerback, Rasul Douglas:
Rasul Douglas is set to join the Buffalo Bills as their newest addition to the secondary. The team acquired Douglas via trade with the Carolina Panthers during the 2021 NFL Draft, sending a fifth-round pick in return for the young defensive back.
Douglas was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of West Virginia University. He spent three seasons with the Eagles before joining the Panthers last season. In his four years in the league, Douglas has played in 59 games (starting 41), recording nine interceptions and 36 passes defended.
At 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing in at 209 pounds, Douglas brings size and physicality to the Bills’ defense. He has experience playing both outside and inside cornerback positions, giving the coaching staff flexibility in how they choose to use him on the field.
In Buffalo, Douglas will be competing for snaps alongside returning starters Tre’Davious White and Levi Wallace. With veteran Josh Norman also on the roster, there will be no shortage of competition in training camp this summer.The skills that made him a coveted prospect coming out of college, he could carve out a significant role for himself in Sean McDermott’s defense.
