Lions Salute Service with 2017 Limited Edition Jersey
The Detroit Lions are proud to unveil their 2017 Salute to Service jersey, honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces. This year’s jersey features a unique olive and gold color scheme, inspired by the uniforms worn by the Army and Marine Corps.
The jersey is made of lightweight, breathable material, perfect for keeping fans comfortable on game day.The words “Salute to Service” on the sleeves.
The Lions will wear the Salute to Service jersey during their home game against the Chicago Bears on November 12th. A portion of the proceeds from jersey sales will be donated to the United Service Organizations (USO), a nonprofit organization that provides support to active-duty military members and their families.
“We are honored to once again partner with the USO to support our military,” said Lions owner Martha Firestone Ford. “The Salute to Service jersey is a small way to show our appreciation for the sacrifices that our servicemen and women make every day.”
The Lions have a long history of supporting the military. The team has been a part of the USO’s “Adopt-A-Unit” program since 2007, and has also donated tickets to military families and hosted events for veterans.
“The Detroit Lions are a true partner to the USO and our military community,” said USO CEO Dr. J.D. Crouch II. “We are grateful for their continued support, and we know that the Salute to Service jersey will help us to continue our mission of providing support to our troops and their families.”
Fans can purchase the Lions Salute to Service jersey at the Lions Team Store at Ford Field, online at DetroitLions.com, or at any NFL retail store.
