Description
The Minnesota Vikings selected defensive back Camryn Bynum with the 125th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Bynum played college football at the University of California, Berkeley where he was a four-year starter and earned All-Pac-12 honors as a senior.
At the time of his selection by the Vikings, Bynum was praised for his versatility, having experience playing both cornerback and safety during his collegiate career. He is known for his excellent instincts, ball skills, and physicality on the field. During his final season at Cal, Bynum recorded 63 tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups.
The Vikings have had success developing defensive backs in recent years, including current starters Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris. With that in mind, Bynum could potentially see significant playing time early in his career if he can make an impact on special teams or earn a role in subpackages.
Bynum’s jersey number is #24 and it comes in olive green and gold colors as part of the league’s “Salute to Service” campaign. This initiative aims to honor and support members of the military community, and players who wear these special edition jerseys will be making donations to various military charities.
Their continued success.
